This is the same shortblock that GM uses for the 502/502HP engine.
Compression ratio if 110cc Combustion chamber cylinder heads are used- 9.6:1
Compression ratio if 118cc Combustion chamber cylinder heads are used- 8.75:1

Block: Gen VI 4 bolt main, w/ 1 piece Rear main seal,Priority mains Oiling, Standard 9.800" Deck height. *This Block has Mechanical Fuel Pump Provision.
Crankshaft: 1053 Forged Steel, Externally Balanced
Connecting Rods: Forged Steel, LS6/LS7 "Dimple" Rod, shotpeened and magnafluxed, With 7/16" Rod Bolts
Pistons: Forged Aluminum
Camshaft: Hydraulic Roller, Intake lift- .527" Exhaust Lift- .544". Intake Duration @ .050"-224,Exhaust duration @ .050" 234, Lobe Centerline 110
Timing Chain: Single Roller, Heavy Duty
Oil Pan: 6 Quart truck style oil pan
14" Automatic Flexplate
8" Harmonic Balancer.
Notes:
The timing cover that comes with this engine will only accommodate a late model single roller timing chain. If a old style double roller timing chain is used, a Gen V sheet metal timing cover must be used - part # 12551544 must be used. If this timing cover is used, only half of the bolt holes are drilled and tapped in the block (this is how the Gen VI timing cover is set up) The extra bolt holes will need to be located by using the Gen V timing cover as a template and drilling and tapping the holes accordingly.
This block will accommodate a factory Gen VI roller camshaft or an old style MarkIV flat tappet camshaft.
