Q: Warranty Policy

EFFECTIVE DATE:
March 1, 2013

General Motors Company ("GM") warrants to the purchaser for the time and/or mileage indicated below that it will repair or replace, at its option, any GM Parts Service Replacement Engine, Engine Component, Transmission/Transaxle, Transmission Component, Transfer Case or Short Block Assembly that fails due to a defect in material or workmanship. GM will use new or remanufactured parts for repair or replacement.

Warranty coverage is based on months/mileage, whichever comes first, and begins on the date of installation by an authorized GM dealer or by a qualified Independent Service Center (ISC). For all other over-the-counter sales, warranty begins on date of retail sale.

  1. Parts and labor warranty when installed by a GM Dealer or qualified installing Independent Service Center (ISC).
  2. Parts and labor warranty when sold over the counter and REPAIRED by a GM Dealer or qualified installing Independent Service
    Center (ISC), on-highway applications only
    . Parts only warranty when consumer repaired or when installed in non-highway application. Coverage limited to defects in material and/or workmanship of the specific part only.
  3. Includes Allison 1000 Series assemblies sold through GM Dealers.
  4. Engine upgrades require appropriate associated parts to ensure proper engine and transmission cooling and torque capacity, fuel/air delivery and emission controls (upgrade example: 305 engine replaced with 350 engine).
  5. Parts-only warranty when sold over the counter.
  6. Must be installed in a "street legal" automotive application for use on public roads.
  7. Warranty valid when all required components are installed on the same vehicle and purchased on one invoice.

 

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:

  • Damage due to improper installation, negligence, alteration (including changes to engine controls), accident, or improper use. Proper vehicle use is discussed in the vehicle Owner's Manual.
  • Any vehicle that has been used for racing (on or off track), stunt driving, performance testing, or used under other extreme operating conditions.
  • Any vehicle where the odometer has been disconnected or the mileage reading has been altered.
  • Damage caused by lack of proper maintenance as described in the vehicle's original Owner's Manual/ Maintenance Schedule, failure to follow Maintenance Schedule intervals, or failure to use or maintain proper type and levels of fluid, fuel, oil, and lubricants recommended in the Owner's Manual/Maintenance Schedule. Proof of proper maintenance is the owner's responsibility. Keep all receipts and be prepared to present them if questions arise about maintenance.
  • Damage as a result of overheating, contamination or lack of lubrication.
  • Damage caused by a turbocharger, supercharger, nitrous oxide, or similar product, which is not an approved Chevrolet Performance Part or Accessory.
  • Racing engines and / or their components.
  • Use of components in excess of maximum torque specification.
  • Damage as a result of modification / replacement of torque converter that is part of transmission assembly.
  • Loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use, or other economic loss.
  • Vehicles registered and normally operated outside of the United States.
  • This warranty does not apply to any unit installed under the General Motors New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

 

DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS:
The GM Dealer or Independent Service Center must be furnished with the purchaser's original repair order or sales slip (or dealer's photo copy). This warranty is transferable to subsequent owners, free of charge, by providing the above required documents to any purchaser of the vehicle in which the assembly/component
was originally installed.

OBTAINING REPAIRS:
GM Dealer Installation - The GM Dealer who initially installed the assembly/component or any other GM Dealer may perform the repairs. You must allow a reasonable period of time for repairs following delivery of the vehicle to the GM Dealer.

Independent Service Center Installation - The Independent Service Center (ISC) that installed the assembly/
component or any GM Dealer may perform repairs. Before any repairs can be performed under warranty by an Independent Service Center, the selling GM Dealer (or any GM Dealer) must first authorize needed repairs as a sublet service.

Towing - for GM Parts Engine, Transmission, and Transfer Case assemblies will be covered to the nearest GM Dealership or ISC who performed the installation, not to exceed $150.00, under the following conditions:
-The vehicle is inoperative.
-The failure was the result of the unit; not the installation.
*Chevrolet Performance Parts Engines and Transmissions are excluded.

Emergency Repairs (GM Dealers Only): Reimbursement to an owner for repairs performed by other than a GM Dealer will be considered when GM Dealer service was not available (e.g. weekends, evenings, etc.) or when repairs were made in a foreign country where warranty repairs by a GM Dealer are difficult to obtain.

Shipping Policy

Q: Continental USA Shipping and Handling

Orders are shipped using UPS, Fedx or USPS (when requested and possible). Shipping charges are based on total number and weight of packages. Orders totaling $500.00 or more will require an adult signature upon delivery to insure against damage and fraud. If you notice any damage to package upon delivery, have the carrier make note of damage.

Please keep the following in mind:
- UPS/Fedx will not deliver to Military APO/FPO boxes
- UPS/Fedx will not deliver to a PO Box. If your credit card's billing address is a PO BOX, please provide an alternative ship-to address when ordering

Q: Truck Freight Shipping & Handling

Please inspect your delivery upon receipt before signing the BOL (bill of lading). Any noticeable damage MUST be noted on the BOL for a freight damage claim. Please contact your sales representative immediately at 1-800-748-3791 for further instructions.

*Our sales staff can arrange for most orders requiring truck freight to be delivered to the nearest truck freight terminal or to your work address. Doing this eliminates residential and lift gate fees and makes off-loading heavy items safer and easier.

Q: International Shipping

International shipping refers to orders that are shipping outside of the 48 state continental USA. To receive a quote for shipping, simply select International Shipping Quote at the checkout and a representative will get back to you with pricing.

All pricing is in U.S. dollars and invoices will reflect actual purchase price. Orders entering other countries may be subject to collection of customs, duties and taxes which may be billed to you directly by the shipping company upon delivery.

We can not ship to countries where shipments are prohibited by the United States Government. The following countries are authorized for International Shipment as identified by the U.S. D.O.C and are subject to change without notice:

Q: Drop Shipments

Most manufacturers have a drop ship program available for out of stock items. Because these orders require special handling there is an additional charge of $15.00 for this service. Drop shipping of out of stock items will expedite your order by 5 to 7 working days. Our sales staff will inform you of the availability of this service.

Q: Shipping Quotes

Some online shipping quotes are not accurate and will be recalculated manually by our internet sales representative. Most common are orders shipped outside the 48 contiguous States. We will advise you of any additional shipping charges.

Q: Estimated Delivery Time

On in-stock items, please allow for 1 to 5 days for delivery from the time order is completed and item is shipped from us. Actual delivery times may vary depending how the item is shipped (i.e. freight) and if the item shipped has to be transferred between various truck lines. Your delivery time will also increase the further the item is shipped from our warehouse which is located in Boardman, Ohio.

Q: Priority Shipping

Priority shipping is available on in-stock items and we will gladly accommodate priority shipping request for the continental US region. If priority shipping is desired for an online purchase of a specific item once that item is in-stock (if backordered), please make a note of that on your online order. Q: Backorder Policy

Although we make every effort to maintain a large inventory for immediate shipping, occasionally unexpected demand may deplete an items in-stock status and put that item on backorder. Sometimes, a demand for a particular popular item may overwhelm the manufacturer's ability to keep us supplied with adequate stock. In situations like this, you may wish to have us cross-reference the ordered product with a comparable item from another one of our vendors in order to expedite the order. Due to various manufactures shipping time frames, we will keep an order open for a maximum of 90 days at which time the order will be canceled and need to be re-ordered. Please note this excludes special orders. It is very important to us that you are completely satisfied with your order. Return Policy

Q: Returns and Exchanges

In the event that you need to return any parts, you will have (15) days to file your return. Returned merchandise must include all original packaging, paperwork and be properly packed. Returns on any parts that appear to have been used or installed will not be accepted. We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee. Please read the instructions on your invoice for proper return merchandise authorization (RMA) procedures and the filing of our return authorization form (RAF). Q: Warranties/Defective

Most products are covered by a manufacturer warranty. In the event you have a warranty issue, please contact us prior to returning the part. Our representative will determine whether a claim can be made and where the part needs returned to.
