Description

Hedman Hedders has been manufacturing quality headers in the USA since 1954, and they've been manufacturing and refining these Jeep Wrangler (YJ), SB Chevy V8 engine swap specific header model for over 20 years. Each set uses mild steel, smooth flowing, CNC mandrel bent tubes, that are hand-welded to ensure each pair is identical to the next. Hedman's unique, gasketless ball and socket collector design allows your Small Block Chevy exhaust system to bolt up, even if it is not perfectly aligned with the header collectors.

These HTC Coated, MID-LENGTH TUBE headers are designed specifically for installing a Small Block Chevy 283-400 (Gen 1) engine into a 1987-1995 Wrangler (YJ). The smooth 1-1/2 in. tube design provides ample exhaust flow to let your Wrangler's transplanted 283-400 SB Chevy engine breathe easy, and significantly improve torque over factory manifolds.

Each set includes a pair of gaskets, header flange bolts and collector bolts. No collector gasket is needed.

Hedman Hedders is so confident in the quality of its headers that these headers are factory backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. These headers have a high temperature, POLISHED-SILVER ceramic finish that resists corrosion, and can withstand temperatures up to 1400 degree F. This finish is covered by a 5 year factory warranty, in addition to Hedman's standard lifetime header warranty.

Features:

  • Handcrafted, Under-Chassis Exit Construction.
  • The Mid-Length Tube Header Design Provides Significantly More Low and Mid-range Power than Cast Manifolds, and Provide Better Ground Clearance And Component Compatibility Than Long Tube Headers.
  • Ball & Socket Collector Design requires No Gasket, and Allows For More Exhaust System Misalignment than Old School, Gasket-Style Header Collectors
  • Includes All The Necessary Mounting Hardware, Gaskets and Reducers (exhaust adapters)
  • Limted Lifetime Warranty On Construction, Five Year Warranty on Factory-Applied Header Coating!
  • Proud To Say, Made In The USA, Since 1954!

Manufacturer

Hedman Hedders, began as a one man shop in 1954. Bob Hedman, founder of Hedman Hedders, sold his highly sought after exhaust tubes to fellow racers on the salt flats of the Mojave Desert. But, what started out as a way to make a few bucks to pay for Bob’s racing hobby, quickly turned into the premier hedder manufacturer for both the racing and street hedder marketplaces. Originally designed for straightline drag racers, word spread quickly about Hedman’s reputation for building hedders that gave you the best boost in power for your dollar. It wasn’t long before Hedman Hedders was the brand of choice among racing’s elite engine builders, racers and race series. Familiar names like Don Garlits, Warren Johnson, Shirley Muldowney, Bob Chandler and his BIG FOOT Race Team, and the IROC series. Hedman Hedders constantly reshapes itself to meet environmental requirements and incorporates computer technology to ensure that its products offer the best performance improvement. Whether you’re a Pro or sportsman racer, Hedman Hedders builds your hedder with one goal in mind, optimum performance. Even if you’re not a racer, the lessons Hedman learns at the track and on the dyno, make it into every street hedder we design.
